Those sub 3:16s laps, a second clear from the third placed SMP Racing BR1 #11 of Petrov/Aleshin/Vandoorne, setting a 3:16.953
In LMP2 the #39 Graff Racing Oreca 07 Gibson set a 3:25.073 to put Gommendy/Capillaire/Hirschi on category pole from the #28 TDS Racing Oreca 3:25.345. In third the much fancied Dragonspeed of Gonzalez/Maldonado/Davidson resumed despite its Thursday night collision with the #7 Toyota setting a time of 3:25.667.
The GTE-Pro honours go to the #95 “DaneTrain” Aston Martin Vantage of Thiim/Sorensen/Turner with an 3:48.000 OCD perfection lap! In second place the #67 “BritPack” Ford GT swansong run for Priaulx/Tincknell/Bomarito with a 3:48.112 hounded by in third place by the #63 Corvette Racing of Magnussen/Garcia/Rockenfeller 3:48.830. Brief mention of the fourth car within a second of pole around a 8.5 mile lap to the #93 Porsche of Pilet/Bamber/Tandy. BOP is working well at Le Mans!
The GTE-Am category pole goes to the #88 Dempsey-Proton Racing RSR of Hoshino/Roda/Cairoli 3:51.439. Its Porsche and Dempsey-Proton Racing domination in the -Am as second goes to the #77 RSR of Campbell/Reid/Andlauer 3:51.645. Third goes to a third RSR the Gulf Racing variant setting a 3:51.944 of Wainwright/Barker/Preining.
