ELMS: Poles for G-Drive, United Autosports and Proton Competition in Barcelona

G-Drive Racing’s #26 car will take the overall pole for Sunday’s inaugural race of the 2021 European Le Mans Series. Nyck De Vries set a fastest lap of 1:31.788 to snatch the pole by 0.079s from Louis Delétraz in the #41 WRT Oreca. Third on the grid will be the #65 Oreca 07 of Panis Racing.

In LMP3, somewhat unexpectedly it’s a Ligier JS P320 top three lockout. Duncan Tappy takes his #3 United Autosports car to pole position with a 1:39.162 lap time, 0.021s ahead of Denmark’s Malthe Jakobsen in the #15 RLR M Sport. Third to line up will be Tappy’s teammate Wayne Boyd in the #2 UA car setting a 1:39.224. 

#77, PROTON COMPETITION, DEU, Porsche 911 RSR – 19, Christian Ried (DEU), Gianmaria Bruni (ITA), Jaxon Evans (NZL)

In GTE, Italy’s GT supremo Gianmaria Bruni put the #77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR he shares with Christian Ried and newcomer Jaxon Evans onto pole setting a TIME ahead of the two Iron Lynx cars with #60 and #83 in second and third spot on the grid respectively.
