Firstly, we want to take the time to thank everyone for entering into our competition to win a place at Le Mans, here at the Diesel Driver office we have been amazed at the level of interest this generated – so officially, to everyone who took part and helped make this our biggest competition ever, THANK YOU!
And now, onto the bit that everyone has been waiting for, announcing the winners. To ensure it was fair, we popped all the names into a big bowl and right at that moment the entryphone went and the Diesel Driver Viszlas ran through the office and knocked it (and everything else) everywhere! The first name that was pulled from the carnage and the winner of a trip with us to the 2014 official test day is …….. Graham, otherwise know as BigLil. Our arrival at Le Mans on June 1st will be via private airplane to the Le Mans Arnage airport next door to the circuit where it is just a few minutes stroll to the action trackside and in the paddock.
And now the big one. We were a little more scientific with this as a key criterion we required were for people to become a part of our community and consequently we were looking for ‘something’, what it was we were not fully sure until we saw it, but ‘something’ that would stand out over the others. So, bearing this in mind, a full week’s entry and hospitality with us to the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hour race at our reserved trackside camping area, all food and drink in our private ‘field kitchen’ & bar goes to ……. (drum roll please) Chris, AKA BristolBoy – we just loved the thought of someone bringing bad jokes and a frisbee – a perfect addition to anyone’s travelling kit that fits perfectly with our ethos!
Graham & Chris, we will be in touch with you over the coming week to discuss travel and entry arrangements etc. – well done and congratulations.
And normally, that would be that. However, there are a few people that we thought it only right to thank as well, you have become a part of our community and for that we felt that some form of runner-up prize should be awarded, so, in no particular order:
We’d like to buy you a beer and a burger (or veggie-burger if you’re vegetarian) at Le Mans to say thanks; if you will not be there this year, we’d like to extend the offer to the next race we’re both at – thanks again for becoming part of our community, for the fun and laughs and long may it continue.
