Dutchman Nick Catsburg has been confirmed by Reiter Engineering as one of the Lamborghini Gallardo drivers for the 2015 Blancpain GT Series.
Nick has a solid motorsport background and started by competing in single-seater racing before changing to GT cars in 2009. Only one year later, he won the European Megane Trophy title. This victory paved the way for his move into GT3 and GT1 racing where he drove a BMW Z4 and Nissan GT-R GT1.
In 2012 and 2013, he concentrated on the Blancpain GT series. He won the team championship together with his team MarcVDS Racing. He also raised eyebrows when he won the VLN8 race on his debut on the Nordschleife in 2013.
The contact with Reiter Engineering intensified when the Blancpain Sprint Series stopped in Zolder in 2014: Nick took second place in the qualifying race with the Reiter Gallardo FL2 GT3 fielded by team NSC Motorsports.
“Nick has established a good reputation over the last few years thanks to his success.” said a delighted Hans Reiter. “In the races at Zolder, we saw first-hand just how good he is.
“He has a good feeling for the car and will certainly be a great help for us in the development of our racecars.
“With Nick and our other professional drivers like Tomas Enge, Peter Kox and Albert von Thurn und Taxis we have a potent line-up for our racing team.”
Reiter Engineering will reveal more surprises by mid-March when the remaining drivers are announced.
