After a sunny Monday hopes were raised of a balmy day in the wilds of Norfolk, but arrival at Snetterton at 8am revealed a bright, but overcast day with a chill in the air, perfect for testing GT cars!
Some 18-cars ran in the morning session and as with any test or ‘media’ day there was little to be gained from studying the times, but much for the eyes & ears to enjoy.
The diversity of entrants in British GT this year is astonishing, and the action should be enriched by that. The brands represented are also many, from Ginetta continuing to demonstrate its products to the UK market through to last years BMWs and Aston Martins. These are rejoined by Bentley in the hands of Team Parker, as well as the fabulous looking Lamborghini Huracan at Barwell Motorsport and wonderfully crafted McLaren 650S GT3 run by Ecurie Ecosse.
Indeed McLaren sprung the first ‘surprise’ of the day with an early roll-out of the 570 GT4 car to be developed on track in British GT throughout 2016, and expected to be on general customer release for 2017.
