Hi everyone and welcome to the first of my regular updates here on SportscarGlobal. I made my racing debut with VrD Motorsport in the Dunlop V.A.G Trophy last season, and loved it but I’m now ready to take the next step forward in my career.

I’m really pleased to announce that I’ll be joining the ranks of the 2015 Power Maxed MINI Challenge in the JCW class. As we announced at the recent Autosport International Show, I’ll be racing under the CK Racing banner in partnership with Lawrence Davey Racing.

The JCW class of this highly competitive championship will see me peddling the same car that Lawrence drove last year to 4th overall in the drivers’ standings. Powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine, coupled with slick tyres and adjustable dampers, it’s really going to help me develop my talent and race craft. What all this technical gobbldy-gook actually means is that the class itself will be determined by the skill of the driver, both actually getting the car around the track and feeding back data to the team to fully maximize the set-up potential of these mighty Minis.

I may have said this already, but I really am so excited about making the move up to MINI Challenge. With the likes of Team Dynamics also entering, it now looks like it’s the series to be in for people who aspire to one day reach the British Touring Car Championship or move into endurance racing.

The learning process is not going to be easy, the JCW class is going to be extremely competitive, and a lot of  last years drivers have chosen to remain in the class rather than taking the step up to the Gen 3, which means these guys know all about the car and its capabilities so I’m starting somewhat ‘on the backfoot’. I am looking forward to the challenge and we hope to deliver some great results for our sponsors & fans who have supported my #twittertotrack journey so far.

My first race this year will be the final weekend of April (25th and 26th) at Donington Park, with the final round of the season taking place on the 31st October and 1st November at Snetterton 300. There’s lots to do and I really can’t wait!

See you trackside!
