What a few weeks it’s been! After helping Speedworks Motorsport to the HANKOOK 24H Series’ Teams’ title in Barcelona, my focus is now on this weekend’s Blancpain Endurance Series event at Germany’s iconic and demanding Nürburgring.

The Ecurie Ecosse team’s position in the standings is not wholly representative of our speed and it was only in this season’s 24 Hours of Spa that we showed their our true form by battling the elements to stand on the podium after 527 laps of intense racing and 23 pit stops.

The podium at Spa-Francorchamps has left the team and I in a rather buoyant mood, so hopefully we can continue that run of success in Germany. The same car we raced in Blancpain is also raced in British GT, where it had an incident that resulted in some front-end damage, but the team did an amazing job in repairing it and getting it over to the Nürburgring, so hopefully we can reward their hard effort with a podium this weekend. If I can replicate the same success I had there last year I will be over the moon.

The Nürburgring isn’t a high-speed circuit, so it should play to the BMW’s strengths. It will almost be as unpredictable as Spa in terms of the weather, but I really enjoy driving in the wet conditions, as it’s unpredictable and places the emphasis on a driver’s instincts. This will also be the first time this year I’ve been to a circuit that I’ve raced at previously in a GT3 car.
