Gérard Neveu, the ELMS CEO today announced the calendar for 2017. The series keeps the same structure as 2016 with an official test day and six races and retains the support of Renault for the support program.

The test day moves, along with the WEC Prologue, to the ‘home of Italian Motorsport’, Monza. the choice of this track allowing those with aims of competing in June’s 24 hours of Le Mans the ability to test low downforce setups.

Silverstone in the UK will again host the season opening race as a ‘double header’ along with the WEC.

Imola has been replaced with a return to Monza in May and the season’s finale moves from Lisbon to the Portuguese Algarve and the Portimão circuit.

Neveu also confirmed that the current stock of LMP2 cars will be eligible to be ‘grandfathered’ into the series next year alongside the new 2017 models. There will be no BoP applied and the current P2 cars will race in their own sub-category.
