As the excitement of this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans begins to fade the European Le Mans Series has announced 31 entries for Round three of the series at Austria’s Red Bull Ring.
Pipped to the win at Silverstone and winners in Imola, Thiriet by TDS Racing head to Austria following disappointment at Le Mans eager to repeat their 2013 result and take the win from the 11 other cars in the LMP2 class.
Russian team SMP Racing will again run their new BR01 chassis which performed well at Le Mans.
the Austrian round also see’s a new team joins the LMP2 ranks – Algarve Pro Racing. Michael Munemann, James Winslow, and Andrea Roda will pilot the #25 Algarve Pro Racing Ligier JS P2 Nissan.
The LMP3 field remains as is with a healthy six entries including the Imola winners from the University of Bolton and Nissan backed Olympian Chris Hoy.
Finally, the GTE / GTC field remains unchanged from the 4 Hours of Imola for both teams and drivers.
The race takes place over the weekend of July 11th-12th and for race fans that can make it to the circuit, entry is FREE.
