The 2021 European Le Mans Series moves to Austria’s iconic Red Bull Ring on 16 May for its second round and the provisional entry list shows another bumper grid; 41 cars with LMP2 and LMP3 classes having 16 entries each and 9 cars slated to line up in the GTE class.

There are no changes to the team/car entries in any class with the exception of the Association SRT41 innovative entry (which will skp Austria and return in Le Castellet) and in GTE, the #88 car of Francois Perrodo, Manu Collard and Alessio Rovera, which, although entered in Barcelona was benched due to Covid, should make its first start of the 2021 season.

There are however a few driver changes; in LMP2 Logan Sargeant subs for Harry Tincknell in the #34 Racing Team Turkey car as Tincknell will be on IMSA duties at Mid-Ohio in the USA. The provisional list also shows Ricky Taylor in the #21 DragonSpeed car along with Hedman and Hanley – we assume this will be subject to change as Taylor will also be in Mid-Ohio slated to drive his father’s #10 Accura DPi.

Taylor will be in Mid-Ohio for WTR.

In LMP3 Bronze driver Cem Bolukbasi replaces Silver Mateusz Kaprzyk and Gold rated Joey Alders joins as the third driver in the #11 Eurointernational Ligier JS P320.

GTE sees the recently announced debut of Cooper MacNeil alongside Christian Ried and Australia’s Matt Campbell in the #77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR – 19.
