An ACO Bulletin released on the 1st July regarding amendments to the technical and sporting regulations for the LMP3 class announced that the base weight of the LMP3 cars is to be raised from 900kg to 930kg and this new regulation will be applied from round three of the ELMS at the Red Bull Ring.
The bulletin also announced that four of the five manufacturer slots for the LMP3 class have been filled with Ginetta, Onroak, Adess and Riley Tech the four named so far. The fifth manufacturer has until Aug. 31 to come forward to the ACO.
The bulletin also announced that the cost-capped price of a turn-key LMP3 car, has been increased slightly to 206,000 Euros.
Currently, only the Ginetta LMP3 chassis has been homologated for competition with chassis’ built by Onroak, Adess and Riley Tech currently undergoing homologation. Onroak’s Ligier JS P3 due to make its race debut later this year in the ELMS.
