G-Drive Racing’s Ryo HIRAKAWA topped the tables at Friday’s first free practice session. In a session punctuated with an early red flag and a period of rain the Frenchman set a best lap of 1:36.963 in the Oreca 07 while Giorgio SERNAGIOTTO brought the #47 CETILAR VILLORBA CORSE Dallara P217 in 0.821s behind. DragonSpeed’s Nicolas LAPIERRE rounded out the top three with a best lap of 1:37.907. 

In LMP3 Giorgio MONDINI set the benchmark putting his EUROINTERNATIONAL Ligier JSP3 on the top of the pile in 1:46.606. The #3 UNITED AUTOSPORTS Ligier of Christian England, Mark Patterson and Wayne Boyd took the second spot in the class with teammates John Falb and Rean Rayhall snatching third spot in the sister #2 car.

GTE saw Proton Competition’s #77 Porsche 911 RSR take the day’s honours in the hands of local driver Matteo Cairoli along with teammates Christian Reid and Joël Camathias in a time of 1:49.943. Second spot went to the Chevrolet Corvette C7-Z06 of Larbre Competition with ex-Aston Martin WEC driver Fernando Rees returning to the squad and setting the pace along with French duo Christian Philippon and Romain Brandela. The final ‘step’ in the class was taken up by the #55 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GTE setting a 1:50.123 in the capable hands ofMatt Griffin along with Duncan Cameron and Aaron Scott.
