Each of the 10 LMP2 full-season entries gave it everything to try and gain an advantage over their rivals at a sunny Estoril, and everything is in place for a top quality final race, with conditions being ideal.
Harry Tincknell claimed his fourth pole position of the season today in preparation for this afternoon’s 4 Hours of Estoril, driving the No.38 JOTA Sport Zytek Z11SN Nissan with a lap of 1: 29.497, the fastest time of the weekend. He beat Tristan Gommendy who was at the wheel of the No.46 Ligier JS P2 of the Thiriet by TDS Racing team and who will join him on the front row of the grid. In third place was the Signatech Alpine No.36 Alpine A450b which was qualified by Nelson Panciatici, and he will be starting alongside the No.48 Murphy Prototypes ORECA 03R Nissan – that car in the hands of recent endurance recruit Pipo Derani. The fifth time fastest time was set by the No.43 Morgan Judd in the hands of Christian Klien (NewBlood by Morand Racing).
There will be five different chassis in the first five places on the starting grid for the 4 Hours of Estoril, and there have been four different winners from four races!
Who will rise to the top of the podium at Estoril; a fifth different team?
And who will take the laurels for the 2014 season?
Everything is possible, the teams and drivers are fired up and determined, and spectators are flocking to Estoril so as not to miss the start of the 4 Hours of Estoril which will be at 13h30 (14h30 CET).
