Dragonspeed’s #21 Oreca 05 – Nissan again topped the timing screens in this morning’s Free Practice 2 at Spa-Francorchamps. Frenchman Nicolas Lapierre set a 2m07.856 lap however, his run was cut short when he clipped the barriers at T18.

The 90-minute session was stopped five minutes early when Andreas Wirth put the #32 SMP Racing BR01 into the gravel at T14 bringing out a red flag and ending the session.

Eurasia Motorsport’s #33 Oreca 05 was second quickest a mere 0.6s behind the Dragonspeed car.  Panis Barthez Competition’s #23 Ligier closed out the top three 0.182 behind the Eurasia car.

The ageing G-Drive Racing Gibson continued to struggle this weekend finishing up in seventh spot with Harry Tincknell posting a 2m09.316, some 1.46s off the pace.

In the LMP3 class Anglo-American team United Autosports took a 1-2 with the #3 Ligier Nissan of Matt Bell posting a 2m15.969, 65 just 0.065s ahead of the class leading #2 car.  Enzo Guibbert took the #9 Graff Ligier to third spot setting the best lap of 2m15.231.

In LMGTE Porsche topped the morning session’s table with the #88 Proton Competition 911 RSR  with Matteo Cairoli clocking in a 2:18.814 2.  The #51 AF Corse Ferrari was second quickest, 0.441 behind the Porsche and 0.028s ahead of the steadily improving Beechdean Aston Martin Vantage.  Championship leaders JMW Motorsport were fourth quickest clocking in a 2:19.475 .
