The 2015 24H SERIES powered by Hankook had a very successful start with the tenth anniversary edition of the Hankook 24H DUBAI, but now, it is on to Italy for the second round. The Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, located in the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany, will be the venue for the second running of the Hankook 12H Italy-Mugello on 13 and 14 March, 2015. Currently, over 40 teams have already registered to participate in the twelve-hour race. Like last year, the race will again be split into two parts with the first four hours of racing on Friday and the remainder of the race on Saturday, with parc fermé conditions in between.
Last year, the fast and flowing Mugello circuit proved to be very popular with the drivers and the beautiful Tuscany region needs no further introduction. “Italy has a rich motoring heritage and it is a pleasure for us to have a race of our series there. Especially at Mugello, in the region that already had its first race on the old road circuit as early as 1914,” says Gerrie Willems on behalf of CREVENTIC. The Dutch agency is promoter and organiser of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook in co-operation with the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT).
He continues: “For this year, we managed to avoid a date clash with other series, so we can have some drivers who will take part in all events. Our race in Mugello is an ideal opportunity for teams to get some competitive mileage in before most of the European endurance racing series start. The fact that we have over 40 entries at this time already, with a good mix of GT and touring cars, clearly reflects the interest in the event and the international series. We really are looking forward to another great event!”
Hankook will be involved as the official tyre supplier and title sponsor of the race at Mugello. Radio Show Limited, the people behind the famous Radio Le Mans, will be present to provide on-site commentary.
With FIA International Series status having been granted to the 24H SERIES, the race in Italy will no longer be a stand-alone event as there will be points at stake as well. Many teams already have signed up to race in all the rounds of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook.
