Dragonspeed dominated this morning’s second free practice session as Ryo Hirakawa went fastest in the #22 G-Drive Oreca 07 ahead of Nicolas Lapierre in the #21 Dragonspeed liveried sister car. Hirakawa’s time of 1.34.024 was 0,324 seconds faster than the Frenchman. Third fastest was Richard Bradley in the #40 Graff Oreca in 1:34.459. The Cetilar Villorba Corse Dallara of Andrea Bellichi was the quickest non-Oreca, getting into fourth place with a best time of 1.35.009. 

The crew of the #32 United Autosports Ligier still seemed to be looking for pace as Filipe Albuquerque couldn’t place any higher than fifth this session, 1.2 seconds slower than Hirakawa’s best time.

LMGTE was was, as has been the norm this season, very close this morning. The top 3 finishing cars within 0.228 seconds from each other. Italian hotshot Matteo Cairoli again pushed the ageing #77 Proton Competition Porsche to the fastest time of the session clocking in a 1.42.966, just 0.072 seconds ahead of Nicki Thiim in the #90 TF Sport Aston Martin. Will Stevens in the JMW Ferrari was third fastest with 1.43.194.

In the LMP3 class it was M.Racing-YMR who set the pace with Alexandre Cougnaud taking the #18 Ligier JSP3 to a best lap of 1.41.124. Wayne Boyd in the #3 United Autosports Ligier was second fastest ahead of 2 Norma’s; the #7 Duqueine Engineering and the #19 M.Racing-YMR. The #2 championship leading United Autosports Ligier was off the pace this morning finishing in 7th place; its best lap was a 1:42.704 set by American Sean Rayhall.
