No 8 Toyota Gazoo Racing, Toyota TS050 Hybrid, LMP1, Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima, FIA WEC Le Mans 2017

Two Toyotas TS050 Hybrids #7 and #9 capitulated within 15-mins of each other. The #7 of Buemi/Davidson/Nakajima approaching 11-hours suffered a clutch problem which result in the car failing on-track and being parked.  The #9 of Lapierre/Kunimoto/Lopez with Nico Lapierre at the wheel tripped over Simon Trummer’s CEFC Manor TRS Racing Oreca, leaving Simon battered in a gravel trap at Dunlop. Its quite difficult to apportion blame, but the passing car #9 is in our opinion marginally more to blame as the faster aprroaching car.  Nico Lapierre  tried desperately to get the car back to its garage, but came up a few 100 metres short. 

No 31 Vaillante Rebellion, Oreca 07, LMP2, Nicolas Prost, Bruno Senna, Julien Canal, FIA WEC Le Mans 2017

In LMP2 Vaillante Rebellion moved into a one-two position in the tenth-hour, #31 leading #13. However, no sooner having acheived that by the next hour, Nico Prost was faced with a suspected gear actuator issue an extended stop dropping it back to 3rd in category. As we write the revived, refreshed and roofed Mighty #38 of Jackie Chan DC Racing by Jota Sport car leads.

GTE-Pro has swung and twisted its way through the night. At one stage Ford GTs looked to becoming to the fore, but the Aston Martin duo of #95 and #97 re-established themselves at the front following punctures, repairs and the like. Again at present with the #92 out following an accident for Michael Christensen, the #91 Porsche RSR is resurgent with Patrick Pilet at the wheel.  This is pursued by both AF Corse Ferrari 488 in number order #51 & #71 respectively. The best Ford is next up, and it is the European team car #67 with Harry Tincknell at the wheel. Only the #63 Corvette remains following an incident for Tommy Milner putting it 5-laps off the lead GTE-Pro. 

No 97 Aston Martin Racing, Aston Martin Vantage GTE, LM GTE Pro, Jonny Adam, Darren Turner, Daniel Serra, FIA WEC Le Mans 2017

GTE-Am it was not previously apparent the predicted Ferrari 488 GTE fest is starting to move to the front of the category. The #84 JMW Motorsport example has led for some time and has 218 laps to the Spirit of Race 488s 217 laps. A change right now, and one to watch closely is the #99 Beachdean AMR in the hands of Andrew Howard currently. This car has been steadily and quietly moving its way forward up the category.. Could be a drive for the podium is underway.
