Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) have released more details of their 2021/2022 FIA WEC Season Hypercar. The in-house designed 007 will weigh in at 1100kg and the Alfa Romeo designed 3L Twin Turbo V6 engine has been specifically developed for the car and will be branded Glickenhaus. With the 007 being eligible for Le Mans LMPH 2020/21 and a purchase price of just €2m it could even be described by some as a bargain – it’s certainly nothing if not pretty!
SCG have brought together a world class team, veterans of F1 and LMP1 racing, to deliver the 007. Starting with a blank sheet of paper the design team lead by Michael Young and Jim Glickenhaus created the stunning design you see here.
Preliminary wind tunnel analysis is now complete and an extensive wind tunnel testing campaign is due to start this month with SCG planning to complete the engineering by June, assemble the subsystems in July, buildi the car in August, and by September the Glickenhaus 007 will hit the track for her first shakedown.
We’re eagerly awaiting Le Mans 2021 and the subsequent journey Jim will make post race to the restaurant in Paris in the same car the team have just raced twice around the clock at the world’s greatest endurance race!
