In a chaotic qualifying session which saw two Porsche LMGTE AM cars destroyed, Porsche took the LMGTE pole for tomorrow’s Total 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps, the season opening race of the FIA World Endurance championship.

The session was red flagged minutes after the start when Christian Ried in the #77 Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche crashed at the top of Radillion. The session restarted at 18h36 local time and almost immediately Egidio Perfetti in the #56 Project 1 Porsche crashed in exactly the same place as Ried bringing out the red flag again.

When the session finally got underway again, six minutes remained and Kevin Estre in the #92 factory Porsche set a 2:11.219 lap to pip AF Corse and the #52 car driven by Miguel Molina to the pole. Richard Lietz in the #91 Porsche will line up third on the grid tomorrow.
