Tristan Vautier has today been announced as the fifth driver for TEAM SARD-Morand.
Vautier will be at the wheel of the #43 Morgan EVO SARD entered in the LMP2 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
He joins fellow Frenchman Pierre Ragues and Oliver Webb from Great Britain for the opening two rounds of the WEC at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps.
Vautier brings a wealth of experience to the team. having made his racing debut in 2001 by winning the go-kart title in the French Rhones Alpes league he progressed to become a member of the Autosport Academy in 2006, where he claimed five victories.
In 2007 and 2008, he took three wins in Formula Renault and the following year he added a further six victories in Formula Palmer Audi to his tally before crossing the Atlantic where he took wins in Indy Lights and in 2013 was named Indycar Rookie of the Year.
He made a one off appearance at Spa for the 24 Hours in a Ferrari 458 GT3 with a 5th in class and moved formally into endurance racing in 2014 driving the Mazda Skyactiv Diesel Prototype in the TUSCC.
The final driver for TEAM SARD-Morand will be chosen as part of the race to 24 series which will see 24 drivers from around the world pitted against each other for the ultimate prize of a race seat at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours.
