Mike Conway will replace Jacques Villeneuve at the Venturi Formula E team for the rest of the 2015-16 season.

The Toyota LMP1 driver will partner his Toyota team-mate, Stephane Sarrazin at Venturi from the Buenos Aires ePrix onwards.

It won’t be the first time the Englishman has experienced a Formula E car, he previously tested for Dragon Racing in pre-season testing for the 2014/15 season.

Conway said, “‘Venturi is a top team in Formula E so it’s great to be able to join. The series is innovative and quite unique.

“It is quickly growing momentum and it’s attractive to a lot of manufacturers to showcase their technologies, so it’s exciting to be a part of the series.

The former Indy car driver has a brilliant record on street circuits, which has included  wins in Macau, Detroit, Toronto and Long Beach.

“I have always liked street circuits, they are very challenging compared to a normal circuit.” said Conway

“They are normally very bumpy and have different grip levels throughout the lap so they are a lot of fun.”

The 32 year-old will join fellow Brits, Oliver Turvey and fellow WEC driver Sam Bird on the grid in Argentina.
