Antonio Felix da Costa will return with Team Aguri for season two of Formula E, the team confirmed on Friday.
Da Costa, who took his maiden victory in Buenos Aires last year, returns to the Anglo-Japanese squad after a summer of uncertainty in which the team tested other drivers.
Despite da Costa claiming it was a “strange” summer on his twitter account, the Portuguese driver was glad to be returning, “I am really happy to continue with Team Aguri and Formula E for season two.
“This championship is earning its respect in the world of motorsport and I am honoured to be involved. Regarding the season, I am really looking forward to getting started.
“The team are making big steps forward and I believe that we have the tools to fight hard and bring home some solid results.”
Similar to season one da Costa will combine Formula E alongside his commitments in DTM with BMW.
“It is a great pleasure to have Antonio continuing with the team for season two of Formula E. said team principle, Mark Preston.
“Antonio brought us our maiden win in Buenos Aires and helped to develop the team from scratch, he will continue to build on that success for season two and beyond.”
The announcement of da Costa leaves only one space available in the Formula E paddock, that’s alongside the 24 year-old at Aguri.
