I know it’s been a while since I’ve shared an update with you all but believe me I’ve been working hard over the off-season and today I can announce the great news and, as the headline says, “what an opportunity!”
This year I have been invited to drive the legendary Lotus 59, ‘up the hill’ during the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS). I really can’t explain what an unbelievable opportunity this is for me, and one that is a complete dream come true. To think a few years ago I was just a motorsport fan and now, here I am, about to climb into a piece of motorsport history – I simply cant believe it!
The Lotus 59 is however, not just ‘any old car’, this was featured heavily in the film ‘RUSH’ in 2013. This amazing car is owned by Carole Arnold and it’s been restored to the James Hunt Brands Hatch winning livery. Carole believes that the car is “too iconic to be sat still” and always wanted to see it driven up the hill so I’m doubly happy that I’ll get to make two people’s dreams come to fruition at this year’s FoS.
Before I sign off, I really need to thank Arnold Restoration, APM Customs, Graham & Leigh, Drive Southwest and Dick Lovett for their continued support and for making this latest opportunity a reality.
