French squad Yvan Muller Racing today announced via their website that they will enter the Michelin Le Mans Cup this season with a Ligier JS P3.
The entry comes in parallel to the team’s commitment to the European Le Mans Series this season and remains subject to validation by the ACO.
“We are looking forward to running the Le Mans Michelin Cup this season, in addition to our ELMS program” said Team Principal Muller.
The drivers for the Ligier JS P3 in the Michelin Le Mans Cup remain teh subject of a further announcement.
Launched in 2016, the Michelin Le Mans Cup features two hour long races and was initially designed for GT3 cars with the highlight of the series being the “Road To Le Mans” race where the LMP3 prototypes joined the grid. Following the success of this race and the LMP3 class overall the entry-level prototypes have been added to the ELMS supporting series for the entire 2017 calendar.
