After 24 hours of virtual racing the #1 Rebellion Williams Esport team have taken LMP and overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual, the first ever virtual endurance race of its kind organised by the ACO, the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Rebellion Williams Esport drivers Deletraz, Marciello, Wisniewski and Brzezinsky covered 371 laps of the iconic Le Mans circuit. After 24 hours of genuine action fraught with tension for everyone involved, they passed the chequered flag 17 seconds ahead of ByKolles Burst Epsort, who had started the race in pole in their car driven by Dillmann, Guerrieri, Simoncic and Pedersen.
In the GTE class, Nick Tandy, winner of the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours in a Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1, took victory class along with his teammates Güven, Rogers and Østgaard driving the Porsche Esports Team’s #93 911 RSR.
The blue ribbon virtual race attracted a host of stars to the grid including current and former F1 drivers Alonso, Button, Leclerc, Verstappen, Panis, Fisichella, Massa, Pagenaud, Montoya, Norris, Vergne, Gasly, Laurent, Senna, Barrichello, Buemi, Jani, Lotterer, Lapierre, Tandy, Hartley, Lopez, Kobayashi, Pilet, Legge, Calderon, Floersch, Buncombe, and two Priaulx’s to name but a few along with a host of the world’s top SIM drivers.
