Finn Gehrsitz put in a 1:44.785 in the #5 Phoenix Racing Ligier to claim pole position for this evening’s two hour race in a qualifying session punctuated with two red flag periods.
The ‘sister’ car of WTM (powered by Phoenix) took second place whilst Antoine Doquin in the #37 Cool Racing Liger scooped up third on the grid.
Matthias Lüthen in the #16 Virage Ligier was both reported to the stewards for causing a red flag (and not respecting the red flag procedure!) and then not permitted to rejoin the remainder of the session.
In the GT3 class the session ran green throughout and the Iron Lynx team took the first two grid spots at their home race; the #8 Ferrari 488 GT3 of Italian duo Paolo Ruberti and Gabriele Lancieri claiming the first spot. Belgium’s Sarah Bovy brought the sister #9 car in for second and Ben Keating, using the Le Mans Cup race as circuit experience for next week’s WEC race here, rounded out the top three in the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3.
