Former F1 driver and one-time Le Mans entrant David Coulthard today sparked a Twitter-storm when he let fly his esteemed opinion on the qualities and commitment of F1 vs Endurance drivers – unsurprisingly he prompted a huge response, not least from three-times 24H Le Mans winner, 2012 World Endurance Champion, Andre Lotterer suggesting a rethink for DC (it should also be noted here that Lotterer was a Jaguar F1 Test Driver in 2002 and started the 2014 Belgian GP for Caterham albeit ending rather abruptly after mechanical failure on the first lap!)

Among some of the other responses were suggestions Coulthard should speak to Le Mans Legend, 9 times winner Tom Kristensen and the WEC’s own Fiona Miller inviting DC to come and sample some modern endurance racing at a WEC event.

What made DC ‘go off on one’ on Twitter? We, like Radio Le Mans’ Eve Hewitt can only wonder …..
